Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how HappySells ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use our currency exchange application for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS.

Data Storage

HappySells is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your transaction history and personal settings are stored:

  • Locally on your device using SwiftData with iOS Data Protection encryption
  • API tokens are stored securely in the device Keychain

We do not operate any servers that store your personal data. Your transaction history and conversion data never leave your device.

Information We Collect

What We DO NOT Collect

  • Your transaction history or conversion amounts
  • Financial information or account details
  • Your geographic location (region detection is done on-device)
  • Personal identification data

What We MAY Collect (Optional)

  • Anonymized crash reports to improve app stability
  • Basic usage analytics (feature usage, not content or amounts)

You can disable analytics in Settings.

Network Requests

HappySells connects to third-party APIs to fetch exchange rates:

  • elToque API - For Cuban informal market rates
  • CoinGecko API - For cryptocurrency rates
  • ExchangeRate API - For global fiat currency rates

These requests only transmit the currency pair being queried. No personal data, device identifiers, or transaction history is sent to these services. The app uses an offline-first approach — rates are cached locally and network requests are minimized with smart refresh limits.

Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit and App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Apple handles all billing and payment processing.

Data Security

  • All data encrypted at rest using iOS Data Protection
  • API tokens stored in Keychain
  • No server-side storage of personal data
  • Network connectivity monitored via NWPathMonitor (on-device only)
  • Zero external dependencies — 100% Apple native frameworks

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

  • Delete individual transactions or all data at any time
  • Export your transaction history as CSV
  • Uninstall the app to remove all local data
  • Opt out of analytics in Settings

Children's Privacy

HappySells is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
